Monica Pitsenberger is a mother of two, and grandmother of one. She started in day care in 1991 when she received the opportunity to become a teacher, while her youngest daughter attended the day care. Monica eventually became a director for the day care.
Next, Monica joined her husband Trey, in running their business, The Happy Frog Garden Center in Auburn. After seven years they sold the business and opened The Golden Gecko Garden Center in Garden Valley. They still have the garden center, but now Monica has opened her new day care right in front of the garden center. She will focus on the nursery while Trey works the garden center.
Monica loves teaching children art and physical education. Sometimes this is the only exposure children have to these important subjects. She also would like children to learn about nature, and the outside world. She will do this using The Childrens Garden, a functioning garden at the daycare that the children will care for and harvest fresh food from.
